***IMPORTANT NOTICE***
We provide free heater core replacement procedures to our registered members. To register and gain full access, click here.
Our goal is to eventually make this site the most complete collection of heater core replacement procedures on the Internet, but it will take time to develop the site to that point. In the interim, we invite you to provide inputs to the effort by letting us know the make and model of your vehicle for which you need heater core replacement procedures. This will help us to determine which models are more likely to experience heater core failure and to set priorities for future development of the site. When we have enough inputs to be statistically valid, we will periodically publish the total number of heater core failures reported by make and model. Please take a moment to add your vehicle to the list and gain full access to all the procedures.
After adding your vehicle and logging into the site, go to the SITEMAP for a listing of models.
Before you get started replacing your heater core, we encourage you to review our heater core related articles for valuable information on determining whether you really do have a bad heater core and our heater core removal tips and recommendations to avoid starting before you are fully prepared. Remember that once you start the heater core removal procedure, your vehicle will not be drivable until the job is completed. It may take a few hours or even a couple of days depending on what has to be disconnected or removed from your particular vehicle.
To help us determine which models are most important to our visitors, we encourage you to let us know what you are searching for. If procedures for your model are not yet listed, please use the comment section below to tell us the year/make/model and other particulars for the vehicle(s) for which you need heater core replacement procedures. Give as much details as possible about your vehicle. The number of requests for a particular model will determine the order that we will add the procedures.
Have Procedures to Share?
If you have core replacement procedures for ANY model that you'd be willing to share, please send us a copy to procedures@heatercorereplacement.com . If we use your procedures, we will give you full credit for it and provide a backlink to your site. (See "Credits" section at the top of each sample procedure page.)
Recommendation: If you need detailed heater core replacement procedures immediately for a 1990 to 2000 model year vehicle that is not yet available on our site, you might consider getting a copy of the Chilton's Heater Core Service manual for 1990 - 2000 Domestic & Imported vehicles. The manual contains very good procedures, detailed illustrations and exploded views. However, these procedures are intended for the professional and may not be detailed enough for you if you have not replaced a heater core before. You can download the Table of Contents to see whether your model is covered before you buy the manual. (The models in the Table of Contents are not in continuous alphabetical order, so you may have to look carefully through all 5 pages to find your model.) This manual includes the instructions for heater core removal and installation.
The Chilton's Heater Core Service Manual is still available at several locations. Prices vary widely, so be sure to shop around and compare prices. At the time of this printing, the cheapest source that we found was Amazon.com (read the small print for best prices of new and/or used manuals.)
Let us know if you find it cheaper elsewhere and we will post it here so others can benefit from your discovery.
