1992 Chevy Blazer Heater/AC Replacement Parts
Before you start removing your vehicle components, be sure you have your new heater core, heater hoses, clamps, coolant, and all other parts you will need for the job. Once you begin, you will not be able to drive the vehicle until the job is completed.

Heater Core Replacement Procedure
- Disconnect the cable running to the negative battery terminal using a socket wrench. Turn the nut on the cable clamp counterclockwise to loosen the clamp and slide it off the terminal.

Remove the Blazer's lower steering column cover. To do this, pull it straight down.

Remove the bolts on either side of the steering wheel, underneath the steering wheel, near the steering column. Then pull the rest of the steering column cover off.

Unplug the connector running to the airbag assembly by squeezing the release tab and pulling the plug out.

Unbolt the center bolt that holds the steering wheel in to the column, and then pull the steering wheel off the steering column.

Slide the pin punch into the pin hole underneath the ignition lock cylinder and turn the ignition key to the "on" position. Press the pin punch into the pin hole to release the lock cylinder and pull the ignition lock out with the key.

Drain the radiator. Place a catch pan underneath the radiator. Remove the hose clamp on the drain hose on the bottom of the radiator and allow the radiator to drain completely.

Press down on the the locking ramp on the side of the heater core and take the lever from the secondary air temperature control off.

Remove the primary air temperature control door shaft from the pin. This is also located on the side of the heater core.

Pull the heater core cover and seal off the heater core. Pull the heater core assembly out by pressing on the core tubes and core assembly.

Install a new heater core. Installation is the reverse of removal.
