Heater Core Replacement Procedures
On this page, we provide you with two different heater core replacement procedures. (NOTE: These procedures are applicable to all 1997 - 2003 Ford F-150 models. While there may be some minor differences depending on model year and accessories/options installed in your particular vehicle, these procedures should be sufficient to enable you to successfully replace your own heater core in any F-150 during these very similar model years.
1. The first procedure is from the 2002 Ford F-150 Workshop Manual. We have included both the heater core replacement procedure and the instrument panel (dashboard) removal procedure, both of which will be needed in order to remove the heater core.

2. The second procedure is provided by mstaszew, who graciously documented the replacement of his own heater core in his 2002 Ford F-150 SuperCrew XLT with details, diagrams and photos and posted it on www.f150online.com. With these procedures we believe you will have the knowledge and confidence to be be able to successfully replace the heater core in your own 1997 - 2003 Ford F-150.
